BoomBox Project is a community resource site and forum run by behavioural ecologists and conservation technology developers Freaklabs. The aim is to support the ongoing development and deployments of BoomBox Automated Behavioural Research (ABR) system.

How It Began
The BoomBox ABRs design was inspired by and based on Dr. Justin Suraci et. al‘s 2016 paper ‘A new Automated Behavioural Response system to integrate playback experiments into camera trap studies’.
The first BoomBox device was developed as a collaboration between Freaklabs and Dr. Meredith Palmer in 2019 and ‘BoomBox: An Automated Behavioural Response (ABR) camera trap module for wildlife playback experiments‘ was published in 2021.
